It takes one to know one!
I am totally astounded when I look around R V Port communities and look at the marketing of homes and land. I think all would agree that this is a niche market that requires someone with a degree of relativity to the market. In today’s market the key to success is precise marketing, availability of your agent, and the utilization of every tool available. The R V Port home communities also demand someone that knows the motor home environment and the housing expectations associated with that knowledge. I live in an R V Port Home and own and utilize a motor home on a regular basis. This does not make me an expert, it makes me an enthusiast. In today’s market place, you need to have someone who is willing to “do whatever it takes” to successfully sell your home. You also need someone who is passionate about this R V Port lifestyle.
I have heard the perspective of marketing homes through a large franchise real estate firm. I am a former partner of Century 21 and Remax. I actually left those relationships to venture on in real estate and mortgage brokerage as an independent. Don’t get me wrong. I am not a renegade, I am a realist. I enjoy doing what is best for my clients and not seeking permission from the corporate office. I also enjoy fielding any and all phone calls that come from prospects. Have you ever noticed how many phone numbers are on real estate brokerage signs? I surmise that people with multiple numbers are not really interested in speaking with you personally. I live with my phone and I am often the brunt of jokes about the ear piece I wear constantly in order to be prompt in answering phone calls. It has been said that “you never get a second chance at a first impression”. Additionally, there is nothing more irritating than leaving the presentation of your home to a receptionist at the office that works for minimum wage and could not care less about your home. Then there is the agent that employs the personal assistant. I have tried this route too. Went through three of them and paid them extraordinary salaries. Once again, no passion, no enthusiasm, no desire to represent you home to complete a closing scenario.
